Trispark rotorshaft removal.

My stud on the slide hammer(which I’ve used on other rotor shafts) does not pass down into the shaft. Does anyone know the thread form and diameter of the puller bolt?

Your Tri-Spark kit was supplied with a long hex-headed bolt, it was intended for rotor removal. The rotor is tapped for M8-1.25. To remove the rotor first remove the 5/16-26 or the 5/16-24 black oxide center fixing socket headed fastener (which fasten to the camshaft), screw the M8-1.25 bolt into the rotor until it is snug, then VERY gently, with light weight hammer, tap the metric fastener; the rotor will disengage quickly and cleanly. Again...GENTLY.

Cheers Maylar , I’ve emailed Trispark and I’m waiting on a reply.

Cheers Roadscholar, unfortunately the rotorshaft does not have an m8 x 1.25 thread form or any other thread form that I can detect making use of a bolt or slidehammer to screw in impossible. I do not want to damage any parts so I’ll wait to hear from trispark before I attempt anything.

Before I referenced the rotor's threaded center I took a rotor from a new Tri-Spark kit and tried 5/16-26, 5/16-24 and 5/16-22 bolts with no success. I next tried the M8-1.25 and had complete threading. The rotor I tested is part of a unit with self-test, so relatively recent...

There are no threads inside my rotor shaft and an M8 bolt does not fit in the centre maybe the shaft was sent unthreaded, who knows! I await an email or another method of removal that avoids damage.

But was it a Firebox Pro Tri-Spark kit?
Even early (pre-Classic Twin) rotors had an M8 extractor thread (and bolt included) but it appears the Firebox Pro might does not.

@RoadScholar the rotor for the Tri-Spark FireBox Pro is different to the rotor in the Classic Twin kit.

Cam end is 1/4-26 or 1/4-28 depending on who made it. Removal bolt should be 5/16- something.

A close up of the rotor shaft devoid of threads.

What size is the hole?
I'd guess a suitably sized bolt or rod needs to be inserted into the unthreaded section and the bolt head then tapped in different directions?

The Elektronik saches is an M8 bolt but this does not fit the Trispark I have. Gentle tapping could be tried shortly.

Cheers Les, I think there is definitely a thread missing from the inside of the shaft, no M8 bolt was in the kit either.
