It got up to 63 degrees yesterday so I had the first ride of the season and it went well. Found a place for PureGas and stopped there to see if the web site was correct and it was. $4.59 for 90 octane. I thought i would give it a try when someone came up to talk about my bike. I gave him a quick lowdown and he offered me $10,000. I said I would thinkabout it but thought I would more than likely decline.
I called him today and took the offer. I do not know what I will do for the future but for now, I am out.
Goodbye all and good luck.

LIfe is uncertain so eat desert first. I will miss you and hope ya didn't take too much a loss on recouping your personal investment.

I'd call that being put on a spot. Never been approached with an offer like that. Tough call. Here's wishing you good times ahead.

Well I'd hope you did introduce him to the forum, you may be out but the bike might stay. :D

You have betrayed the faith and trust of every member of this forum. Your disgraceful act of selfish greed is an insult to the dedicated members who have given their time, sweat, and tears to maintain the Norton heritage.

Say, you wouldn't have that guy's phone number handy would you?

I just want to welcome him to the forum.

That's a surprise Pete, sometimes a 10K carrot dangling in front of you is all it takes. Good luck and hope you chime in once awhile.

We'll miss you Pete. Nice windfall though.
I hope you find a project bike soon.

Wow. I guess I should go drive around Middleburg more.

I would never take $10K for mine and it's not even finished yet...Norton's are gold.

I've had many of the other's and still have a bunch of the competition. Value is relative. An old CBR is worth $500 to one guy and $3000 to another...but still not even close to the value of a nice Norton. Brand new sport bikes are more than $10K off the showroom floor but all over Craigslist and Ebay for half the cost of new with 2000 miles on them...value is relative.

I've had big crazy beasts that I couldn't push around the garage without getting a hernia...supposed to be worth so much money...but they just make a pretty noise...can't make a corner half way over without scraping the foot pegs and there is no real top end...just a bunch of low down torque and shaking nuts and bolts.

The Norton feels like a toy in comparison from a weight and handling standpoint...but it has the balls and looks to back it up...there is nothing like it for form, function and appeal...even 40 years later.

If it's about money you missed the boat and the real reason to own one.

Good one.... Like I always say... "DON'T take the bait! Fish end up in the boat EVERY DAY!"

Ah Poo just remembered today is my wife Alicia and I official anniversary in recognition of fooling each other for couple decades+ now. Priceless joke on us.

A couple caught on and a couple drove off the cliff.
Sorry to dissapoint some of you.
Good fun.

The part about the ethanol free 90 is true though. As with most things, I will try it out.
