The exchange rate with the UK is so good (for the USA) right now that I'm going to place big orders with AN, Amal, and Wassell. Now is a good time to buy from AN or Amal but shipping is still costly. If you want to add onto my orders, you can save a lot on Amal or Wassell items and a little on AN items.

For instance, Premier Carbs sets will cost you much less than any you will find on eBay - depending on the final exchange rate and shipping, around $80 less. This works for the US and probably Canada.

Please don't consider this a sales pitch. Selling parts is a PITA - the ONLY reason I do it is to allow me to have dealer accounts to get parts for my rebuilds for less. PM me with your needs.

Thank you for this. I wish there was something I needed. When are you going to place your order?

I'm building them now. I would like to send them tomorrow night but may wait a day to two to see if the exchange rate keeps improving.

Nice offer Marsh !!! sadly last time I checked Canadian dollar was worth maybe $0.67 in your money so no saving for Canadians ...

Actually, the cheapest Amal Premier set on ebay.ca is $258.79 USD with free shipping. Since shipping from the US to Canada is stupidly expensive, you would only be saving 20-30 USD on a set through me. I don't know what it would cost you to buy a set direct from Amal. You probably cannot save on AN parts through me, due to shipping. Dumb American question: Do you have to pay UK VAT?

Technically UK is outside Europe now. But at any rate that will be a 20% discount on an order from the States. Also note, if you visit the UK from the States get a VAT receipt on whatever you buy and claim the cash back at the airport, but you probably knew that.

I got a crankshaft shipped from England last summer. Five days to Alaska for a hundred bucks via UPS International. I'd be curious as to how that works out on smaller packages. Usually it costs me near that much to get a few pounds shipped by air to Alaska from anywhere in the US.

It varies by company and the carrier used.

Amal charges me 45 pounds no matter how much I buy.

Wassell charges a LOT but orders arrive in one business day.

AN is in the middle - last order was 356 pounds in parts, 46 pounds in shipping, all small parts. AN order before that was a MKIII frame and some parts - 399 pounds shipping.

Anywhere in the US to anywhere else in the US, USPS flat-rate boxes cost the same. The biggest box costs $21.10. VA to AK Priority 3-day mail, box 24"x4"x4" 10 lbs is about $45.

You must be using UPS or FedEx to be paying that much inside the US!

Guess prolly already mentioned , there is no VAT for Canadians , just our dollar has no stayin’ power , any little reason at all even a minor “Pandemic” our dollar just tanks ...

I guess my previous post was kinda vague. I was implying that the UPS International rates are quite good compared to the domestic rates. I have no clue as to why this is.

Thanks for the tip on USPS flat rate boxes but crankshafts for four cylinder diesel engines don't fit in one!

Update for those waiting for parts.

My orders were placed on 23 Mar. I'm expecting the AN order this week but they haven't supplied tracking info so I don't know when. On 23 Mar, after I placed my order, Wassell shut down without warning. I didn't place an Amal order because they are working from home but not shipping orders - fortunately, those who wanted Premier carbs got them as I had what was needed in stock.

You can expect eBay and other sellers to soon be out of many things. A lot of what's sold for Norton that doesn't specify AN, comes from Wassell and some things that are UK made and identical between AN and Wassell are probably not being produced right now.
