Did early Amals come without ticklers? Mine doesn't have any and am wondering if they're missing or if they were never there. I thought I remember seeing a tickler conversion kit somewhere which would indicate that possibly earlier versions came without them.

Yeah, a definite Homer moment. My only consolation is the fact that back when I rebuilt the carbs, the only ticklers I was even aware of were the ones you wore when you wanted to pleasure your neighbors wife while he was at work. Last week, after I finished installing the rubber insulators, I swore I would never remove them again as long as I owned the bike, and when the air cleaner got clogged I'd quite riding it. Hopefully, that will go better 2nd time around also.
