Well, I got a parcel from Thiel Motorsport today...
REALLY impressed!
Typical bloody Germans, nearly as bad as the bloody Japanese. Excellent fabrication, fit and finish all round.
They look perfect, very reminiscent of the old peashooters from the ‘70s. They are a little longer than the Norton shorties, but much shorter and more slender than the horrid stock long silencers.
They sound gorgeous. I think they are slightly quieter than the shorties, but have a nicer, deeper sound. I put this down the the fact that they have a straight through perforated absorption tube and high quality packing, whereas the shorties have a kinda baffle thing going on.
Sadly, bad weather (snow here in Oxford) has prevented any road testing.
Anyway, here’s some pics:
One point of note is that the brake hose P clamp, located under the swinging arm, needed turning 180 degrees on my bike as the new silencers are more tucked in, the left hand one would have fouled the clip:
When fitting them beware the silencers are a nice tight fit, unlike the “prick in a bucket” standard fit:
Who could argue that they don’t look bloody fabulous? Not even Clive I suspect:
