I have a set Theil Motorsport shorty exhaust on the way from Germany for my Sport. They're stuck in New York right now. Will advise but I'm excited. No more big clunky quiet pipes soon.

Oliver has the highest quality. Anything you get from him is incredible from material choice to finished quality. I cannot say enough good about THIEL MOTORSPORTS.

Cool. Is that a custom order or are they manufacturing sets specifically for the 961?

    Hello,

one mistake: not Theil-Motorsports , right is THIEL-MOTORSPORT.

    www.thiel-motorsport.de

the exhaustsystems (Long or short) are specifically made for the 961.
Also a ajustable X-pipe with space for the sump-plug is avialable. (Catless)

All handmade in very good quality.
No China shit ; Made in Germany

    Cheers

I’ve got some in the way too!

They have a detachable baffle... ideal for track day noise testing!

Does the manufacturer have fuel maps for both baffled and un-baffled use?

I’ll clarify the mapping questions with Ollie and feedback.

When I last discussed with him via email, we kinda concluded that the factory mapping set up for open pipes should be ideal for his open pipes too.

What difference the baffle makes to mapping I don’t know, but have asked. It was of no concern to me as I only want the baffle to pass track day noise tests!

BritTwit, check out the web site and look at the design of the short megas... and note that he also does a Y piece to use one of these same megas as a 2:1 system with the mega exiting on the right or the left... you get to choose.

I have enquired about also buying a Y piece and about the mapping requirements of the 2:1 system. The 2:1 system with this short mega will look MUCH better than the factories Street system and it keeps stock footrests which I suspect is better for comfort.

    According to Ollie:

His pipes run well with the factory open pipe map.

With the above map, and the dB killers, the bike will be too rich.

When they fit them, they mostly fit a Powercommander with a map switch for both situations.

The same is valid for the 2-1 version.

Personally, as I only want the dB killers to pass track day noise test, I’m happy with the above. Until the bike is out of warranty at least... at which point I’ll consider the Powercommander option...

No maps just exhaust. I’m going to email Ollie and ask if he has any map suggestions.

I’ve already done that and posted his answer...

His pipes, without baffles, are open pipes. They therefore run well with the factory open pipe map.

When customers of his want to switch between baffled and unbaffled use, he fits a Powercommander with a switchable map.

Thiel have just said by email to me that their oil filter conversion is being revised , from a better quality source, so no price/ availability just yet.

Perhaps the best thing that Thiel sell is their oil filler cap tool.

    A brilliant thing.

    Should be compulsory !

I carved a slot in a narrow bit of wood then rounded the inside ends to fit. Works fine, fits in the pocket and cost nowt. Get your old Scout woggle on and start whittling Nigel. I used a bit of English ash left over from a longbow.
