Gents,

I thought some might appreciate knowing that after a period of un availability due to the supplier loosing their tooling, RGM now have their T160 style kick starts back in stock.

Good news for the folks that are after one, its one of the best aftermarket kickstarts for our Nortons, I have had mine on my bike about 5 years now and it fold right away where my old kicker use to get in my way when my foot was on the foot peg it rubbed the back of my leg when riding and the extra lever helps us with starting high compression motors without as much effort.

Excellent - do you know how much they are, please? I've tried looking on RGM's website, but couldn't find it.

I can't remember as I ordered it over the phone along with some other stuff!

I'll let you know when its delivered and I get the invoice.

So long as you promise not to tell my Missus...

I had one, passed it along as it didnt work on a TTI box and a reverse shifter. Too bad I was
hoping that it would offer a bit more umph when starting.

wont work with rearsets..........

I was wondering about that, but according to RGM, "FOLDS NEATLY AWAY, HANDY FOR REARSETS ETC.. EXTRA LENGTH FOR EASIER STARTING.
WILL NOT FIT A MK3 COMMANDO WITH STANDARD FOOTRESTS."

I couldn't make mine work with rearsets :(

It depends on the rearsets. Sometimes the shifter gets in the way of the folding kickstart lever. They won't work with Norman Hyde but may work with another brand.

Well in my case the TTI seems to stick out a bit more, using the reverse lever doesnt
leave enough room to position both T160 kicker and reverse lever to work. It may
well be workable if you use the link type shift set up.
I could not because my TTI box has a one down shifter. So in order to retain the up for low
the reverse lever was required.
Just for full explanation, I have three bikes, and I have them all on the road so I found
it was necessary to have them all shift with the same pattern: up for low as stock on
the Commando and the Interceptor and the Trident, with a reverse shifter, is the same.
Uniformity and safety for me.

I have a few bikes as well and can jump from my Honda dirt bike, my moden Triumph and then to my Norton without having any problems with the gear shifts, after 40 years it just come natrual to me, I never get mixed up with my gear changes as each bike is diffrent you just know which one you are riding at the time.

I've never had any problems jumping between my left and right shift bikes either - I simply stopped using the rear brake years ago!

I had a hard time wrapping my head around a right shift with GP pattern. It damn near tossed me! Even though I had my Ducati set up like this for the track. Back and forth up and down, I decided to get them all standard shift and the incident w/ my brothers Dunstall Commando was another reason I bought a 75. E-start yet another. His bike was so cobbled up and tough to start from PO's work.

On my Norton the old lever use to sit in the back of my leg and I couldn't have my foot on the foot peg properly because of it, the folding kicker folds to the side and well out of the way from my foot peg.
