received the set of plastic, lube impregnated bushes + new pin from the bloke in Australia. Now I have a problem. On disassembly, I discovered the old pin is oversized, and a good tight fit in the cradle as is. The new pin, though a tight fit in the bushes, is obviously a little sloppy in the cradle. My cradle is modified with the keigler collars BTW.

So I'm faced with two options: 1) ream the new bushes to fit the old oversize pin, or 2) stick with the new pin and rely on the keigler collars to lock it in the cradle.

footnote: I'm planning on a gearbox teardown this winter, and will likely be replacing the cradle at that point given this latest discovery...

Might as well try the cheaper reaming and see what happens as will not be dangerous if the ream job tends to wallow out - then can buy all new to match next time and rest of us will know if happens to us. MIght ask if can order or exchange for blue bushes sized for the better over size nice cradle fit spindle. Id think sand paper on drill dowel might be down dirty reliever.

hmmmm, as of now, with new pin and collars clamped down, the rig is very tight with no play whatsoever. Messaged seller about situation, and he advised not to ream bushes, that the large shoulders of the bushes would help overcome any minor play in conjunction with the collars.

Well if ya got it all shoved together and just very stiff, way to go and just ride it to self burnish in as the loads leverage will easy over come any friction till it rubs-mashes some slicker clearance in or throw more new money at it. I figure the bigger spindle tends to spread wear and loads over more area. If yours works out I will try to order over size for Peel spindle.

You're overthinking it. The kegler modification takes up any play between the new axl and the cradle tube, which is where you will have your only issue with the new parts interfacing with your existing parts. The modification is already done to fix the problem...

I purchased the same "upgrade" but I got mine with the spindle and it was a spot on fix. I opted not to do the Kegler mod, yet. We'll see how these hold up. Pressing in my pin was extremely difficult. Thank goodness I own a press. Since the vendor makes these to order ( I think ) you may want to try messaging him with your pin OD and see if he has or can make one similar to fit.
