Sure fire coil?

yes the trispark fire box can be setup as single fire and the elektronik sachs (spelling) can also.

Thanks.
I used an early version of those on a triple. Frankly I found no benefit at all in playing around with the advance curve!

IMHO, so long as these old skool motors have correct mixture and BIG FAT SPARK, they’re not really fussy about minor changes to advance curves etc.

Yeah if I bought one I'd just ask for the default curve and not bother with programming. The allure to me is getting the electronics out of the engine while still retaining the wonderful idle stabilization feature. Dedicated spark would be a side benefit.

One of these days I will install a Secu 3 as it has a seperate starting timing channel and a starter relay defeat to protect the starter motor from backfires and pressing the starter button when the engine is running, but it also uses a MAP feed from the manifold so you can advance the timing at low revs but not under load for better fuel economy. if the Amals will play ball. As the curve is programmable idle stabilisation can be added.

I asked that question because if you look at single coils with two HT leads some are labelled "single fire" and some "dual fire"..... Hence my confusion.

the ones i am familiar with is if it has 2 primary terminals it is dual output and with 3 primary terminals it is a single fire.
