Hello friends

Re-wiring my 73 850. Using the stock 12V, 2wire alternator, no electric start (for now)
I've acquired a PODtronics voltage regulator and the cNw single coil conversion.
Questions are;
Do I need a start capacitor?
Am I obligated to use an electronic ignition with the above components or can I use the good ole reliable contact breakers?
Is it possible to run a battery eliminator circuit?
Saw an archive of schematics. Don't remember where

Thanks all!

Do I need a start capacitor?
No, but you will need a battery

Am I obligated to use an electronic ignition with the above components or can I use the good ole reliable contact breakers?
Theoretically - it is possible to use points with a single coil, but I would defer to someone who has - EI is typically the route to go with a single coil.

Is it possible to run a battery eliminator circuit?
Yes, but if you are sticking with points you might as well use the capacitor

Hope this helps.

I wish to keep my points and use the CNW single coil what wires become redundant? so far I have joined together b/w and W/purple of one coil, and B/yellow with W/purple of other. Do any condeners, ballast resistors etc become redundant
