Suddenly being hammered with ads !

Hi Jerry, over the past week or so I've suddenly (and very annoyingly) being hammered with ads on this site. Even in the middle of threads. What gives?

I get it on the phone, not one a thread but one between every user entry, use Blokada to stop them on the phone and uBlock origin on the PC.
 
Addblock Plus works for Chrome. VIP membership makes them go away.

What type of windows do you need to enable those ad blockers mentioned above , thanks !
 
Although ad blockers are available for pretty much all browsers, I don't use them. More and more sites are stopping content to those with blockers or at least making you acknowledge that you have a blocker which causes even more slowness.

The problem is that ad blockers are extensions to the browser. They take time to detect and block ads.

Since becoming a VIP member of Access Norton eliminates ads altogether, that's what I did. I spend enough time here that I don't want to be slowed by receiving potential ads and then having software block those ads.

I'm not pushing anyone to become a VIP member, but it does cost for Jerry to maintain this site...
 
Yup, I also joined because I felt like I had been given the value of the information of the site and wisdom of the memebers here for free. I wanted to compensate Jerry and pay the Karma Gods since I actually haul ass on my Commando...
 
Yup , as I’m VIP too , I was curious ‘bout using the blockers on other sites etc. .... thanks for the info !
 
If ads help the running cost then I have no problems at all with them, I was a VIP member for a while but now no longer working and money becomes a bit more tighter just to live these days, it is a small price to become a VIP member and I will be upgrading soon again, just got to sell the wife and kids LOL.

I don’t mind the ads the way they were until the other week, but suddenly they’ve doubled.
 
I was VIP with no ads. Then the VIP ended and I get lots of ads. Fortunately they are
very entertaining. But, yeah, ads between every post seems excessive. I get it that
the bills have to be paid.
 
Hi all, I have not changed anything within the last year that would create more ads.

As mentioned you can remove the ads and get much more if you are a VIP. Thanks for all VIP members who help keep this running.

I am buried with work at the moment. I will look into this after I get caught up, if I ever do...
 
I had a bit of time today to look into this issue. You were right. It seems an upgrade changed the settings. All is back to normal now. Cheers
