Still nil thots of ridding this year d/t ongoing rescues and catch ups from prior rescues while rescuing house calls I could be having a hot rod Commando holiday on instead of Cutlass cage. Before I die would like to have a Commando daily commuter that can tour to a race event, strip down switch comments/tires and be competitive then transition back home - in likely more potent condition than race rules allow. Side car and trailer in tow of course.
Seeking insights advise on configuring engine that both sucks like normal engines yet can blow up to ~1500cc size. Basics, 920 cc 10.5 CR, Norris D+/flat liters with and w/o Drouin primary cover installed. Main things I can think of is changing fuels or water-methanol spray, ign curves and cam degrees. Peel envelope is delicate smooth on Dry Gravel and Wet Grass Snot teeth gritting insecure commuter yet Very Relaxed Secure Jerky Ballistic Ricochet Rabbit on firm surfaces, so do not want nor require much low-mid range power just something so so ok below 5500 but then kicks in an extra piston after. Drouin limits LH leans to 55* but ~70* w/o it on 2 inch taller suspension.
91 octane is highest available within 50 miles which is ok up to 12-ish CR w/o too much spark retard unboosted. i do not want to mess with CR, head or gaskets/plates or exhaust system - optimized for pure top end, if I even can. Most obscure data I lack is how much degree range does Norris D and JSM piston/rod kit allow. I think cam should retard unboosted delayed intake closing for flat track games but advanced earlier closing not to blow out exht valve over lap for boosted hill climbs with hi octane and spraying inside and out.
