Dear all,
how many time needs to stag wellseal (jointing compaund) to become dry?.
Thanks.
Ciao.

I think that it depends on temperature. Somewhere between 20 minutes and an hour to become 'tacky'. Mike Pemberton (the NOC single-cylinder man) told me to leave it overnight on side-valve head gaskets so it won't hurt if you leave it a bit longer.

After 18 hours the Stag Wellseal is not tacky!
What happenes?

After 18 hours it should feel tacky or sticky (like touching adhesive tape)? It should not still be "wet" but Wellseal never really becomes completely "dry" to the touch.

Did you apply just enough to coat each joint surface with a thin layer?

Hi Les,

the Wellseal Is still sticky.
This is the first time that I use for join the two crankcase halves.
If I understood well, it remains always sticky and does not become dry?.
But when the engine starts and warms, what happens to Wellseal?
But, M.Hemmings in his video uses Wellseal and it seems is very dry on timing halve!.
Thanks.
Ciao.

Nothing.

Don't worry. The Wellseal will not dissolve or run out of the joint. :)
