Hi a simple request Ngk, Champion or Bosch, what are your thoughts.

Your bike might like the NGK8's better, mine do. Slightly cooler than the 7's. All of them seem a bit different. Also available in resistor type signified by an r in the plug number if you need that for Sparx 3 phase or certain electronic ignition systems.

The only reason i changed them out was they got very ugly with rust. I just went through the resistor deal with a boyer micro digital. I had the 5K caps BUT added resistor wires also. As to the sparks junk there in nothing they make i have not seen fail and usually a lot sooner than it should.

Thanks folks, not many chose Bosch, and quite a variety of heat ranges, I suppose its got a lot to do with personal taste and regular colour checks and longevity.

Only ones which have ever given me good service and life in mine have been NGK BP7ES. AC, Bosch, Champion, etc. all give up the ghost very fast in the old girl. I couldn't figure it out and gave up.

Why added resistor wires also in addition 5K caps ?
I was fighting kickback issues and after going back and forth with jim comstock he said to use both. I know it goes against common wisdom But so-far no more kickback

My Norton only seems to like the Champions N7YC every other plug plays up with in a week, my last set have been in for just over 7 years now.

Hi Bill

I keep hearing concern about kickback. Just so I understand is this engine backfire when kick starting? My ‘72 will do that if the timing is too advanced. I ask because I haven’t had an issue. Probably have around 120,000 miles on Commandos since 1973.

How do you find the Bosch as I have have the double tang plugs in my Tr6 (car).

Trouble free :) I had a couple of NGK plugs breaking down under compression causing intermittent misfire fitted the Bosch W6DC and my MK3 loves them:D

The kickback i have been fighting is just like the timing is to far advanced. This is the first ign. System i have had this issue with. The rita’s pazon sure fire and trispark never gave this issue.
