selling my bike question

Jerry,

I've been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt. Sent. Thanks for the forum and best wishes to you.

Divorcing is subject i know something about but not for 20 yr married again now thankyou.
What ever is in your name as a debt or asset is a shared and fair game in divorce. So forum and Commando at risk.
If you expect to live through this to the other side and Commando and Commando accessories are high lights in your life, duh, I'd consider being rid of them fast as possible, at bargain rates to get them out of your Name and 'control' under the protection of someone to offer them back at bargain rates, a year or 3 later. Set your mind and harden your heart to endure that long as its not unusual to drag on and on and on with every mean trick thrown at ya from you know who and their liar/lawyer. what ever the bike sold for would be added to the amount wife could claim in settlement. Best bet is use every talent you have to sweeten and soften your 'ex's attitude towrards compromising reasoning. Except for my last divorce of MD wife, all my others ex's are in contact and happy we had such good times and lived through it too happier times w/o each other so close we can't stand it : )

My wife and I have pre-nups...What is hers before is hers after. What is mine before is mine after. What she gets during is hers during and after. What I get during is mine during and after. What we get together is ours during and value split equally after. We kept it simple and we are both happy.

Jerry. I think this is a fabulous forum and its one of the regular parts of my life. I'm about to sell one of my Commandos (money next week), so how about I buy your's (selling price on ebay for nice ones seems to be about $7K or thereabouts, but let's talk) and we agree a delivery date sometime in (say) October of 2012? I'll pay the full amount up front (next week), but leave the bike in your care, for your use, and you can buy it back for the same price at any time between now and then? I'm sure you'll take good care of it for me and who knows, having a bike over there may help me realise one of dreams - doing some riding in the US. I don't know how the system works over there, but I do know someone in Denver if you need a US citizen to transfer the title into (if that's necessary). I'm off to a bike swap meeting in Melbourne now, but email me if this offer is of any use to you and I'll get back to you Sunday evening my time. Bill

Best offer so far. Of course publicly suggesting a sell now, by back later may be frowned upon by the courts. I don't know how picky they get.

Depends on how deep her lawyers get into "Discovery".. ;^) usually in proportion to the ammount of money they think they can extract from the divorce.

My wife and I have pre-nups..quote]

My wife and I don't pre-nups, we have 6 young kids....so neither of us have anything :)--they're slowly sucking the life out of us, starting with our sleep, which we sort of remember when we could get a full nights worth :( Anyhow this is a great forum and wether or not you keep your bike or let it go and build another one later, you've got our support, i've just hit the button. Cj

Well not sure what to say. "Thanks" might not be enough. When I posted a simple post here to try and find out the value of my bike I had no idea this would happen. Obviously its complicated! The bike will be the last thing to go if it has to. Thanks again to you all. This week I am working on the T shirts for access norton too.

Jerry,
We just hope that we are helping rather than making things more complicated. If the bike has to go, then it has to go.

Best of luck to you,
Russ

I think the response to this is crazy wonderful.

I think its also @#%ing dangerous.

I would stop talking about swapping shit, hiding shit, temporarily transferring shit, anything about this. Its now part of a public record. Fully downloadable at a rodent click, just the sort of thing a pisssed off wife and bloodsucking, rabid, mad dog lawyer will love to shove in every place they can find an opening.

As the shrink said go see your lawyer.

Make a plan and fly it so low you road rash your nuts.

Best of luck from Namibia.

I can't believe I only just read this Thread.
It's a shitty bussiness.I think things are best left...quiet.
Will P.M. you Jerry. How much are the Tshirts? $50.00 + ?
AC.

Here too - and local - would be happy to help however needed - let me know via PM

Cheers - Spaulding

How about giving it as a gift to someone near you, or sell it for a dollar to that person. That way it is no longer in your name, and not an asset. Then once this whole things blows over, simply gives it back.

Because, as discussed earlier, this doesn't fly with the court system.
