Currently using one on my KLR, it is messy. A lot of splatter on the rear wheel, the tube to the sprocket drains out when the bike is parked after a ride and leaves a little puddle and makes a mess around the front sprocket cover. Its timed at one drop/min as per the instructions but probably a little overkill.

you're better off using a good teflon based lube

Or, put a dollop of wheel bearing grease in a pump oiler, partially fill with petrol, shake well and apply to chain, concentrating on the pins and rollers. Wait until petrol evaporates before riding to minimize sling off onto rear wheel.

Slick

Am using the vsystem and am pleased with it, has been on for about 3 years. Enabled me to block off the very messy Norton system (which was turned down as low as possible). Still getting some oil on the rear rim but not much, I had disturbed the setting and need to turn it down a little more. Never drips when parked, the Norton system did and I used to put a tub underneath!

They are very popular in the UK and should not drip as they are turned on by the vacuum of the inlet manifold. A little expensive but a good piece of kit if you are a high mileage rider. The scott oil is very stringy and shouldn't fly off unless you have the adjustment too high

I have one , my chain is always the cleanest when I go to the ralleys.Tried all the chain sprays ,this by far the best setup IMHO, It has extended the chains/sprockets life Hugely

I got the one fits behind the license plate, it has a lot more capacity. Doesn't look like they offer that one anymore. The one linked below should work, just install a tee into the intake balance hose for the vacuum.

use this for more capacity

The Scottoiler vSystem is a vacuum operated automatic chain oiler, which automatically lubes your chain while you ride.
Increases motorcycle chain & sprockets life by up to 7 times.
Improves performance.
Saves you time, money and hassle.
Suitable for most motorcycles including those fitted with CARB EVAP systems.

heres a photo of the oiler and my clean chain :)

Used one on my 350 LC Yamaha, that is just the tube section as this was a two stroke I couldn’t risk pluming into the vacuum-I mounted an oil can onto the carrier which I could easily reach with my left hand whilst riding the bike and found it very messy as I probably over oiled the chain.
Note Scott chain oil is very expensive I got this type of oil far cheaper from places like lawnmower + garden centres.
Watch out for the tubes perishing and screwing up your engine vacuum.

Bernhard,
I was reading on the AVG website some are using chainsaw oil because of its tacky characteristics.
I am reading what I can about this system.

How many miles on that chain?

I cant say the miles but I get a lot.
If you want a clean show bike , you might just use a spray chain lube, but that is messy too.
I use any oil I have around, partial cans etc, you don't need anything special ,
but I do use a lot of it, that's why my bike is kind of oily and the chain is so clean .
