Sorry to reserect this but I didnt see my questions answered in looking over Pea Shooter" posts.

I have a 1974 850 MK2A Roadster with the original crossover pipe and original exhausts. I would like to put pea shooters on instead.

1) Is there any additional hardware necessary to make this work?
2) This is not a show bike; I'm just looking for a decent set, not top of the line.
3) I'm in Canada, so any Canadians that can recommend a (supplier) taking into account the peso would be appreciated. I'll buy in the USA or UK if need be.

Thanks all.

Probably 260 main jets.

There are different suppliers and differing versions of the pea shooters.
Some have a very small exit hole and are very quiet. It's likely that this type would stifle power quite a bit.

Don't want quiet, and can't live with less power, thanks for the heads up. Can you suggest who to avoid? I did own a new 1973 750 with pea shooters, if I could get that sound, more or less, perfect.

Then you want the large exit hole type with no baffle, straight through. All of the Andover peashooters are listed as " with baffles"
Here are some eBay silencers that have the large exit hole and are straight thru, no baffle
Since you are in Canada, you could give Walridge Motors a call. Ask for Mike and explain that you want the open version with large exit.

What it actually says is "original style baffling" which is the straight-through* fluted tube so the noise level should be similar to the original.

*(Except for the early 'S' type peashooter)

I have the AN fluted straight through no crossover setup on my Mk2 non a. You can putt putt
around town on small throttle and you will not raise a fuss. Out on the road, when passing and
using rpm and throttle you can cause deafness in any driver with his window rolled down.
It is not a deep throaty rumble. It is a tearing cloth put through a stack of Marshalls.

I have Wassel peashooters on my MK2, have had them for years. Beautiful chrome and they sound like a proper big British twin. Kids put their hands over their ears when I blast by at throttle, but they're quite docile about town. I ride with Harleys and have to look at my tacho to know if my motor is running.

Les, could you tell me which type these are please?

They are the fluted version, 3 rows of scallops pressed inwards that scoop air from the exhaust flow and direct it outwards to the outer chamber. Most current versions just use plain perforated tube which does not reach out into the flow and is hence noisier.

+1 on what kommando said. Same fluted tubes as my peashooters which I don't think are genuine Norton and as Onder said they're not too loud at low speeds but noisy at higher speeds even with the balance pipe exhaust.

First time I saw them was on a pair of Campbell's peashooters, none of my last 2 sets came with them but Feked look to do a version with heavy chrome plus AN.

Can you tell me what this make of Pea Shooter this is please, and do you recommend them? Thanks

The current peashooters that Wassell and some others sell are EMGO. They are LOUD - same basic sound as originals, but a lot louder. The tube through the center is straight through with holes. There are no flutes or baffles of any kind. The construction is excellent as is the chrome.

Not tried either so cannot make a recommendation but the Campbells I had many years ago with the flutes were very good.

If you mean those on my 850 Mk3 then I don't know the make as they were on it when I bought the bike so must be at least 20 years old but still in reasonably good condition although too loud at speed in my opinion.

I have Wassel's on my bike for 10 years. Dunno who made them, but I love the seamless welds. Very pretty. If they're loud, so be it... I'm good with their sound.
