Gidday mate.
i did this and am very pleased with the result. comparing visually with an old advertisement for a red 69 fastback, the one with the girl draped on the bike., the result appeared the same.
the paint is based on British Standard 381C, paint code 537 Signal red. this can be found on the net with sample color swatches to give an idea.. there are many signal reds out there but this one is based on the british standard 381C, not the Australian standard which is noticably different.
Being in Aussie, the tinters were from a company called Hi Chem but Dulux also is very very close to this.
maybe there is an american conversion chart as to the equivalent tinters. or you could import the paint???
BS 381C paint code 537 Hi Chem tinters.. this is for 100 grams of paint so other quanties can be determined by proportion.

the result was not what I call a blood red but has a slight orange appearance.
