Glyptal paint.

Heeding Lineslinger good advice I have found some good YouTube videos for this product. It is not just a Tremclad enamel spray paint can so be careful of this stuff.

The video show how he does cast iron but he mentions aluminum castings of old brit bikes. All thats needed for good prep work.
This guy has some really good videos with applying Glyptal.
 
It's a paint that as far as I know was invented in the US, by General Electric. It's used for the inside of electric motors.
I know there has been a lot of comment on here but Ive never even heard of Glyptol and I spent 25 years in rewinds of all shapes and sizes during the 80's 90's and 2000's for a number of companies . Isonel was the common varnish type. Schenectady being the manufacturer. If someone can tell me how to say that name would also help .

thats probably why I never seen it at the Westinghouse rewind shop I worked at , I suppose that was the opposition . Westinghouse I think had a connection with Ciba Geigy (araldite) ?
