Someone was asking a while back for pictures of the pit bull paddock stands. I've installed mine so I thought I'd oblige.

The guys at pit bull sent a commando kit (bobbins, allen bolts and the special extended tops on the lift itself).

The bobbin mounts in place of the shock absorber bolt and the extended lifter comfortably clears the exhaust.

They work real well and require next to zero effort to use.

That is slick new age type stand with clever fittings. What would be more useful practical to me and most everyone else, is a padded rectangle of tubes with a fold up handle lever, you side it under frame to lit either end of bike depending on where you place the lift point. When not in use stand or hand against a wall like a broom.

Hello Biffom, does this modification work better than their standard fitting that lifts at the bottom of the swing arm?
Thankis,
Ron

Ron,

In general, I'd say yes. I use a Pit Bull with spindles like the ones posted above on my Manx and it works great. I have to use the fitting that just lifts from under the swingarm on my Ducati as it is not easy to fit spindles to it. It is in no way as stable as the spindle approach.

Steve, thanks. I have looked at the web site and will order the brackets and the spools. I assume they will know what to send me. Thanks a million for the feedback.

I too have the Pit Bull for Commando rear stand, for about a year and a half now, love it.

Fantasic. So easy to lift the rear end for servicing, took my centerstand off the day I got it.

One less thing to have spring break, come detached, and drop the stand while riding, or bouncing up and down.

My bike is always on the side stand, unless being serviced on the Pit Bull.

The standard model will not work on the Norton. If you call them up you just need to ask for the Norton Commando kit - there is an extension that they fabricate which allows it to clear the exhausts. Also I think the lift itself is a narrower model that they make for vintage bikes - when I ordered mine it wasn't possible to order that online.

Would still keep the centerstand. Breakdowns aren't usually in the garage. Also you may need to raise the front wheel. My old Matchless rigid has stands front and rear which comes in handy.

Not a bad price for this though and looks great.
