I have a question about installing the kit.
Bought it brand new, but via eBay from someone that didnt ever use it.

My issue is that when everything is tight the OD of the rotor hits the inside of the caliper.

What gives?
Dont really see a way to adjust things.

Any ideas what I am missing?

Sounds like you have some bodging/fettling ahead, you may have to open out the holes in the caliper adapter plate to allow the caliper to be moved outwards. Is this a floating disc with an aluminum carrier from Norvil of Stafford, if so don't waste much time/effort as the carrier wears out very quickly.

Sadly not, I steer well clear of them. There is photo of an outer gearbox cover with the gear indicator number reversed

I have the stock rotor, and a rebuilt caliper.
Maybe swap that back on.

Also have a different bracket that will mount the AP caliper to the stock rotor.

Will try to see if I can shim out the NorVil stuff to make it work first though.

I had the same problem with a different brake kit, after much measuring and such it was a problem with the way the wheel was laced, the offset was wrong.I did not figure this one out,Matt helped me out BIG time !! Once he got involved and it was he who finally put 2 and 2 together...I wouldn't be surprised if you were dealing with the same issue...at least our symptoms are/were the same ? Good luck, this was a challenge for a novice like me but Matt nailed it in short order,I did not have to re lace the wheel though it was corrected by using a different spacer on the front axle assembly

Find a friend with a lath and ask him to take a little off of the OD of the disc if you want to use the Norvil job. But as other have said, it may not last all that long.

Or, as you already have it, fit the AP caliper with the stock disc, unless your family name is Rossi, I'm sure you'll find it more than good enough.

It might actually be out of round, or atleast not centered on the hub.

Contacts only on part of the rotation.

I assumed the rotor was an EBC one?

I have had the same problem with a Norvil floating disc & Locheed / Grimeca caliper conversion.
The first time, I didn't catch the scraping of the disc on the caliper & it warped the disc, an expensive ever.
I have fitted a few big disc conversions to my Norton's & they all appear to have this problem, you have to machine the caliper mounting holes into a slot on the conversion plate or replacement leg to give adequate clearance to the disc.
Why this happens on an expensive conversion like this, is beyond me.

I suppose it is a bit late in the game for this, but I went with a sleeved master, stock caliper and
a lightened drilled disc. It is fine for normal road use provided you dont over heat it with
hard riding.
