I am packing the first run of breathers for shipping late this week or early next week. These may have slight tool and jig marks as I am still fine tuning the machines - nothing that would affect the funtionality. Once they are up to CNW's standards they will be listed on their website. I am selling the first run at $175.00 each plus shipping- cash or paypal. Drop me an e-mail at comnoz2@comcast.net if you would like one of these. Jim

Quick question Jim,

Once installed, it's plumbed to where the stock breather enters the oil tank, correct?
On my 850 I would simply cap or plug the outlet at the top rear of the timing side where the existing hose is?

Thanks

JD

Great instructions. Looking forward to the installation. I sent you an email with my contact info last week.

Jim,

Sent you an email with some installation and possible design issues.... all in not well :(

Seems we have a problem as found by JD.

Some of the 1974- 850 engines still have remains of the baffle that was used in the earlier combat engines. Of the 3- 74 engines I have here, one of them has the baffle that does not clear the screen. If you remove the sump plug and put your finger in the hole and feel a piece of casting that covers about the front 1/4th of the hole then the breather will not fit. I don't know yet how many this is going to affect.

To any that have purchased this breather for installation on an engine with this baffle in the way let me know and I will send a refund until I can get something redesigned to fit this application.

Note that I have not seen any issues with pre-combat motors or Mk3 850s but let me know if you do. Jim

Ok, I have checked 9 cases in the 73-74 area and 4 would not fit.

If you have this baffle then it will not fit.

Some of the cases look like they have had that baffle mostly milled away and will fit, presumably it was done at the factory but I don't know for sure. Jim

If there is anyone who I have not contacted with a breather fitting problem let me know. I will be leaving in the morning and will not be back till Oct. 4th so I may be out of touch for a while. Jim

I received mine in the mail. Very nice piece of work.

One question, what do you all recommend to block the old return on the front left of my '70 that I am disconnecting to run to the new breather?

On the 68-70, that right angle fitting on the left side of your crank is the timed breather output. Just put a bolt in it, but not so long it hits anything in there, probably a washer to keep it from leaking too, I forget the size. Put the tube you had on there onto the spigot off the new breather so the sumped oil returns to the oil tank when you start it.

Ditto with what DogT writes. I put a bolt and a lock washer in mine when I modified the breather. Cheers ...

The breather re-design is now finished. Tough little part to make. I will be shipping replacement bodies first for those 73 and 74 motors with the baffle. Jim
