Got the paint back this last weekend, and just had to set it on the bike.

New to the area, so I don't really have any "motorcycle friends" to appreciate it, and my wife's reaction was "that's nice dear" while glancing at the photo. I figured I needed to show it off, and this seems to be a great place for it.

Wives...I get about the same reaction from mine. But at least she lets me play on what I want to. The bike is looking good and so is the mancave!

Looking good, I like the boardtrakcer handlebars  Where in Wisconsin are you?

I'm located in Chilton, which is just south of appleton.

The handlebars are the ones that came on the bike, I just flipped them to help me picture drop downs. Don't think they're permenant, but they do kind of look interesting.

One more piece and she's done . . Looking good . Bars if knurled & match clamps , dont biff , as original fitting .

Make sure you prime all the oiling system before start up .How long youve been going to get this far . Nice Bike . 8)

Anahey? I'm going to look them up in the spring. I went to a WNOC meeting years ago, they have since all but disbanded.

How long did it take me to get this far? Only about 6 years. It's moved across the US three times with me, hopefully it's found it's home now. I've been through three computers in that time, so I don't have any of the "before" photos anymore, but trust me, it was in rough shape.

Couldn't help but notice the door knob hookup to an electrical source and door bar.
Got a crime problem there?
Nice bike BTW.

electrical hasn't gotten any potential thieves yet, but I suspect once the copper doormat tarnishes a bit it'll be less noticable.

I thought there was a healthy Brit bike contingent in Milwaukee...

I think there is, but being new to the area, and having a new baby, I haven't gotten the chance to get plugged in to the various circles. I have however gotton very plugged in to the parenting circles. Not too different, actually. Lots of conversations about your "baby", little problems, and possible fixes. Biggest difference is everybody's reaction when you bring up racing or upgrading.

My wife got upset that I set up a baby monitor in the garage while I was building my fastback and working till 0 dark thirty for months on it.
What? I did what? I have not found any gathering of childrearing folks who understand my affliction. Use this site to get that!

my wife has recently forbidden me to talk to her again about 'my norton'. she said something like: 'if the only thing you want to talk to me about is some parts of your bike than do not bother talking to me'
-is this good or bad?

it looks like either you need to widen your horizons or this could get VERY EXPENSIVE

I feel for you Orsonoce but judging by the size and types of bikes in your "collection" Ifind it hard to think she wasn't aware of your slight addictive nature with bikes before she signed the "until death do us part" thing.. Oh +1 on NICE BIKE! Keep going.

when she signed for life I only owned a Morini 350 sport (now in the hands of my bro -damn...). But to be frank I am cheating a bit here as the Xt500 in my 'collection' is actually hers.. so yeah, she is not totally against. I think it's just a matter of how much time I spend with my hands on her (the Norton, that is...).

Got a little more done, and my new seat arrived. Hoping to get it started by the end of the month.

I'm not sure about the black pipes. When I pulled them out of storage I realized how bad the chrome was next to all the new shiny parts. High temp paint was the quickest fix, and I was curious about the color.

found a couple of before shots from the dismantling. When I got it it was painted white with spray cans. Not a terrible job, only a few runs. The gray on the forks in the first picture is spray paint to cover up rust.
