It’s a Sunset shot but just wanted to get your take (opinion) on my repaint tank and side cover as well as the Airtech ¼ faring. Its done in Mercedes midnight black under clear coat. My tank transfer is slightly higher than from original. I had to get the side covers transfers redone, as they were climbing a slight hill on both left and right sides, with the right being far worse. The Painter tried to copy my fiberglass covers but the new steel covers were slightly different in how they get placed on the bike. I asked him to do it again after I measured it level on the bike. That’s my pet peeve with transfers not being level. And After another three weeks wait time, it’s not bad and level with the Z plates. I just plopped the tank and covers on the frame for a look see for a camera shot and still need to attach petcocks and rubber foam under the tunnel and grommet fixings. I will give the tank the Caswell Tank sealer treatment before I ride. I have the Amal’s off for a good clean. Ultrasonic bath. Its almost 60 degrees today. The snow has mostly disappeared except in the edges of the fence lines. Ready for the road pretty soon.

Makes me want to paint the frame and swing-arm/engine cradle now.
Cheers,

Very nice. Same combo that I'm going to do. Those bag mounts look a lot like the Krausers that I have.

Beautiful looking.
The problem with doing a Caswell tank lining now is the risk of damaging the paint.
Product instructions are to use acetone to flush and dry the interior prior to applying the 2-part epoxy.
The acetone will eat most paints very quickly.
Wrapping the tank with plastic and sealing around the filler hole can be done, but be very careful.

Paint looks great! If your tank has any inner surface rust, you can neutralize it with any one of several converter/etcher type products. Tank lining is an act of desperation.

Agreed! I've done it. It hasn't failed, but I won't do it again unless it's a leaker.

Can't wait to see it in person at the dark cafe run.
Looks great.
