Hi there,
may I introduce me in this fantastic Norton forum.
I am Andy and recently purchased a 750 Commando. Well it's not my first one, but the last experience is 20 years (!) ago.
As you can see it looks a bit racy and that is the point where a few probs come up. But the questions come later.....
Have a look so far. This one was roaring through a movie in '96 in the UK.
Cheers,
Andy
P.S. I'm not too sure how to copy an image, I 'll give my best.

That wouldn't be the bike from "Tunnel of Love" -would it?

P.S. I'm not too sure how to copy an image,

Use the Photobucket "IMG Code" (instead of "Direct Link") of each photo to insert the photo directly into a message. Alternatively, add the "Img" tags (above the reply box) to each end of the direct link. [Edit, the techinique of which you appear to have mastered now].

Thanks to all for making me feel welcome!

Yes, that is the bike from "Tunnel of Love".

@grandpaul: it's the original Norton twinleader

Unfortunately I am down with a broken leg since 5 weeks. At least for another week I am even not allowed to drive my car.... so I live from the pics of the Norton I took shortly before the operation took place.
And to kick over the Commando again? Should be possible in June maybe in July!
By this time I will have changed the kickstarter, for it's the original one. And together with these rearsets it's a no-go! I can't ride her without having the kicker in the calf. And going through the gears is quite tricky.
I wonder how someone could ride this bike as it is? Maybe this is the reason it has just covered 2000miles since '94, when it had its engine rebuilt.
Thanks to the forum I heard of Terry Weedy's kickstarters. But to be honest I find them not very attractive. A friend offered me one from an old CB 750 for a fair price. I think the easiest way is to make this one fit, as another difficulty with the original one is the clearance to the downpipe.
Thanks again to the forum I found a few nice pics and ideas as it turnes out, this is a quite common conversion.

Well, I am glad to own a nice Commando again! And I am looking forward to the summer, when the weather hopefully is like it was the last to weeks here: sunny with 20°C! Very uncommon in April in Germany.

Have a nice day anyway, seeya on the road soon!
