Hello Guys,
New Member here... Longtime lurker, I Bought a 1973 Norton Commando 850 Roadster back in late March and I have been lurking here long before to acquire some insight in to the adventure of becoming a norton owner... I have been riding motorcycles nearly all my life a passion that I acquired from my Dad a life long rider... and a lover of vintage machines of all types BMW's, Ducati's, Bultaco's early Honda Twins ... it was his Orange 1974 Ducati 750 Sport that was my first love until one day a friend of his came over to our house on a shinny 72 Combat Roadster and I was starstruck...
Many many motorcycles later and I was finally able to procure my childhood dream and All-Time bucket-list bike...
-Thanks to all of you here who have shared a vast and expansive wealth of knowledge, experience and opinions that have helped me to learn, research and begin this undertaking... she was a mostly Restored "pretty" machine when I got her but she had plenty of mechanical issues... I have been sorting her out and working a bit along side a great experienced Norton mechanic to learn how to feel comfortable wrenching on her myself... Man, these things are unlike any other bike I have worked on... it's all a bit of Andover Black Magic, Voodoo and insider experimental witchcraft... but it sure is Fun!
I have had a ton of bikes over the years but none have felt the way this one does to kick-over and ride... nothing feels quite like it!
-Thanks Again!
