Thanx for the welcome boys! I am absolutely over the moon to have this bike in my garage. Since getting the bike I have spent hours every day just double checking things and sitting and admiring it. No matter what side you look at, it just looks right..beautiful flowing lines and the timing cover looks like it was designed Michelangelo. No plastics or tuperware hiding anything, just a proper great looking bike.
In 1985 I was living in a huge house on the east coast of Canada and had a 1973 Commando. House was big enough the bike spent the winter in the dinning room. My oldest daughter was 3 years old then. When I fired it up in the spring Barbie doll heads, legs, pizza crust etc. came flying out of the exhaust...the pea shooter pipes were the perfect height for a toddler to jam stuff into...was hilarious! She was over the other day looking at the bike and told me, with a smile, she wouldn't do that again...but gonna have a look down the pipes before starting it this spring.
