Hello everyone,

Sorry I did not get back earlier. Out and about doing a big bob with work.

I agree, you need to edit. A VIP member always had unlimited editing (VIP members let me know if that does not work for you). A regular member is supposed to have 24 hours to edit the post, as we decided that before, due to some issues that we were having (see Les's post). Anyway I screwed up on the regular members setting. You wont believe how many settings there are in the admin of this forum. I missed the editing setting for regular users permissions group and it was off. I have now turned it on for regular members for 48hours. Let me know if it does not work. I doubt you will be able to edit posts from 48hrs ago, but going forward you should be able too.

Cheers, almost the weekend!!

Tried to add post to "Location Map" thread but am not permitted
Just letting you know that my "location" is apparently somewhere off the Nigerian coast (similar to LAB - haven't seen him in my street though)
Cheers

I found a way to correct my location.

Try placing your cursor over your username (top right, next to Inbox) select Privacy from the menu, select Any option available at; User map privacy settings, Show me on the map (>Save Changes) and see if that works.

If it cannot find your address this is what happens.

1) Make sure you add the full address in your profile.
2) Every week it updates, so check in about a week to see if you are located properly.

Cheers

I made another attempt to try and figure out why I have been having to log on again after closing my browser. There was a "learn more" button that I clicked on for Firefox help which suggested adding "https://" in front of the "www" address if it wasn't there. I did, logged back on again, checking to be kept logged in, and that worked. So I've updated my bookmark and now come back logged in every time.

I've been using Google Chrome for a long time and have never had any problems with it on this site, other than the problem with Boto**cket. I'll add that fix soon. Thanks for finding it, Jerry.

I've added a couple of videos to an album, but they're flagged as "Owner only" under "Can view" in the permissions. How do I change this setting to "Public"?

That's a very good question. I'll try and figure it out and get back to you. Please could you send me a link to the album so I can investigate further?

Cheers

On the right hand side of your Albums page, you should see Album Permissions?
Click Change Permissions.

I don't see "Change Permissions" - perhaps you have admin rights that I don't have.
I don't seem to be able to post a png file either.

Could be, as I can watch the videos.
I will change it to Members only for you.

I have made some changes- see if you can change the permissions now (per Les post)

While on the subject of media, I notice that Jerry has added a wonderful series of photographs.
When I click on "Add media", the only option I have is to embed video from an approved external site.
I don't appear to be able to add photographs from my PC.
Is this feature available only to admin/moderators and paid-up members?

At this time you must be a VIP member to upload photos. I have a solution that might enable all members to upload photos, but have not had time to test or implement it. You can embed photos from Instagram, Google etc without a problem.

I would allow all members to upload photos, but the server will run out of space very quickly and that would then become a costly time consuming problem for me.

Why not become a VIP member for a few bucks a month or embed photos?

Cheers

i have noticed that i can mark all forums read but sometimes when i return it will show a lot of older posts when i go to unread posts IE it does recognize that i marked all posts as read.
