Hi all,

I have a friend with a 1970 longrange Fastback.

We ordered and received a set of new headers and pea shooters from Commando Specialties.

We now have the old exhaust system removed and can see that the new mufflers will not pair up to the old mounting hardware pieces, looks like we need to order some more stuff.

Question, are all Z plates the same for all year Commandos?

In other words, can we use his 1970 Z plate back hole to mount the new mufflers if we ordered some new triangular flat mount plates, rubbers, etc?

or are his Z plates somehow different dimensions from later years and so can't do this retrofit?

Z plates and rubber mounts are the same. He just needs the peashooter mounting plate set (6 plates) [Edit: and two 060471 spacers].

Damn, Les!

I knew you would hit it out of the park right away.

Thank you sir for the link and the spacer comment!

You are GREAT!

New Exhaust fitment questions

After fitting, I suggest he checks there is clearance between the upper L/H inner rubber mounting stud and the swingarm when the suspension is compressed.
If not, the stud can be shortened and a thinner nut used if necessary. Alternatively, extra washers can be added between the Z plate and the frame.
