I was working on a 71 Commando that had been converted to the MKIII style isolastics.
On my own MKIII the adjuster side of the rear iso is on the drive side of the bike and the adjuster side of the front is on the timing side.
This bike has them installed in reverse of the factory installation. So the question is, does it matter which way they go in? I think it does, but was wondering if anyone else knows for sure.

The rear doesn't seem to matter.
The front also doesn't seem to matter IF it's the pre-MkIII vernier conversion kit which does not require the front Iso. mounting tube to be machined down in order to accommodate the wider MkIII threaded adjuster.

If the wider MkIII front adjuster was fitted on the wrong (LH) side, it would pull the cradle assembly (and thus swingarm and rear wheel) out of alignment with the frame.

That is what I was thinking on the front, I couldn't remember if the rear mount had an orientation to it as well. I'll take a close look and see what kind of parts were used.
