Main Bearing Question!

I have read through many of the previous post and have seen the FAG NJ306E.C3 is recommended as the replacement main bearing.
I am currently looking at a FAG NJ306E.M1.C3 and would like to know if the (M1.) makes this a different animal?

Not to get away from your question but I believe it is the "NU" prefix that you want. Something to do with the flanged inner race.
M1 is a higher level of toughness or load bearing capabilities I think.

No its NJ you want (single lipped) I think M1 means its got a machined brass cage. C3 is the fit up clearance.

Right just checked - NJ single lipped, bearings fixed in outer race. M1 - machined brass cage rolling element riding (cross peice riveted). For high speed high strength applications.

So is the FAG NJ306E.M1.C3 the proper replacement bearing?

Yes, NJ. My confusion was from looking at the CNW web site. The FAG bearing they have pictured is an NU.

Thanks for the help. A vendor has a pair listed for about $130. I priced the FAG's out at three other vendors and they were over two hundred for a pair. I saw others are using Timkin or RGM but I not able to currently price them out.
