Low mileage, semi-basket build thread

Thanks L.A.B. Next issue - Gently tapping the crankshaft pinion home it stopped moving and I noticed the woodruff key is going cockeyed. Gentle persuasion doesn't get the pinion back off. I was only using plastic levers though. I gave the key a gentle tap with a punch to straighten it out but was afraid to damage it. Same for the pinion, I was only gently tapping. Give it some force and hammer it home? Keep trying to pull the pinion and restart (I think I'll need a puller at this point which I don't have).

Never mind. Got the pinion off, woodruff wasn't pushed in correctly. Gonna have to pull it out and file down the nicks it got from tapping the pinion against it when it started angling.
