Hey everyone, been a while nice I have been on the forum. Wife's cancer went into remission and she kept me busy. In November last year we found out her cancer came back stage 4 and are battling that. We also moved and I have reset my garage setup so I am a little better equipped to get back to work on my bike. It was good therapy for me the first time my wife went through this so I figure I can get back on it now as time allows.

Got a engine stand coming from CNW so I can get that out and started. Does anyone know where a thread to take apart the front forks are? I did a search a few times but not a full tear down.

At this time I figure I have a few years project on my hands but that gives me plenty of time to do it right!

Glad your family is still here. It took me like 5 yrs to first over come some horrific stuff ups items, then discover some serious but not obvious faults, then find the parts after saving up for them and the processing, in between stealing time here and there, till finally a day came and couldn't think of any reason not to try to start and it freaking did! Best way I found to work in tight spaces long term is install and use a sky hook.

Best of luck to your wife and you.

I found my thread on forks. I'll need to fix the pictures. I should have them done tomorrow.

welcome back warpedscout. Those CNW engine stands look nice judging from their web site. I bought one off of e-bay when I first decided to get after my '69 basket case, (it has a base that mounts to your bench, then the part that bolts to your engine has a pipe welded on like a receiver that fits in the bench half) so it will swivel. but you can't move it around like the you'll be able to do. Are you going to go with a lansdown kit for your front forks?

Not sure at this time CJ, still a newbie to all this and getting my feet wet. I just want to get back to work on the bike before it gets stuck in boxes!
