LED Headlights Goff vs Cyclops

Thanks, that definitely helps. One thing though. The refector you reference, is listed as a 6.5" lamp, not a 7" lamp. However, the one person who sent in a rating was disappointed, because he said it was larger than 6.5" and would not fit his application. The seller responded saying it "was" a 6.5" lamp. Any comment?
I can't vouch for the validity of this exact product, I only cited it as an example of a product that was close to the one that I bought. I think it is over priced and the shipping cost is way out of line.

Torontonian is running this reflector in his bike, with the same bulb as mine. I have ridden it at night and the light pattern is quite good.

Amazon product ASIN B001OMEPEU
Hope this helps

USA price is similar with much cheaper shipping. $4 for the one with the pilot lamp. Free shipping with Amazon Prime on the one Torontonian is using. FYI, I'm originally from the Buffalo, NY area. I love Toronto. I have friends in Oakville and Mississauga. I've found drivers in the Province of Ontario, to be skilled and courteous. In SE Florida, the turn signal stalk is simply something you hang your air freshener on!

It looks as though you can't have self cancelling indicators and "running light" indicators - is that right?
Would you mind posting a phot of your indicator controls?
It appears you need 3 momentary buttons.
Cheers

The front indicators on that bike are the Oberon bar end type.
They are on as running lights when the engine is on and also work as self cancelling turn indicators.
The rear light is a wrap around flexible led split in two. It has about 30 LEDs on each side of centre.
This light operates as a brake light, self cancelling indicator lights and running lights.
All of the above is controlled by the XP module.
The brake switch connects to the module as does the turn switch. The turn switch is a standard GSXR push off type indicator switch which I modified to make momentary. There is a second small push type momentary switch added on the right clip on to give the 4 way hazard function. Push left turn and the right side switch together to turn hazards on or off.

That took a bit of fiddling as I recall. I had to fabricate a couple of small parts and add springs.
On the Rapide I just used a universal turn indicator switch and modified it to remove the detents. That one was easy.
I'll take a photo of that switch or find a link to a supplier.

Here it is-

Thanks for that!;)

I'll pop it apart today to jog my memory on the detents. I recall that there was an easy way to limit travel so the switch still made contact but did not snap into the detent. As soon as you release the thumb lever the springs push the switch back to the middle/off position.

More Goff vs Cyclops. I reckon this shows that although both are awesome daytime lights, the Cyclops is the better night time riding light...

Goff Daylighter 2 on dip beam is good:

Cyclops Ultra on dip is marginally better, but not much in it:

Goff on main, good bright light for distance, but near sight not so good (due to the dip emitters being off whilst on main):

Cyclops Ultra on main, really bright and really good spread of light, so much so that the picture is spoiled by the amount of reflecting light from various sources and angles. No doubt at all that this is the best main beam:

Since they don't have so much of a load, can you run the Goffy with both beams on?

Looks like either light would be great for riding in the garden ("back yard" in the USA!) :)

I don’t know. You’d have to wire it up differently which I’m not keen on. But you’re right, the load is low.

Yeah, kinda strange innit?!

But when I did the first round of ‘tests’ I wanted to try 3 different bulbs back to back. And I couldn’t be arsed changing them out on the street!

Anyway, UK Govt statistics clearly show that riding around the garden is much safer than out on the roads... so long as you keep the dogs out of the way...

My Goffy daylighter lights both emitters on Main/high.

Its the 12W high power version.

regarding these led upgrades , do you have to wire in a diode for correct operation ?
For the Goff bulbs, yes.i think this was a mfg error, and am not sure if this was corrected in his new runs or not.

I just made a jumper to insert inline.

I’m not sure which one you’re referring to there?

Could it be your wiring that does that?

The 4 Goff LEDs I currently have fitted all do not use all 4 emitters for main beam. I had to use sunglasses to peer in there to be sure!

The Goff LEDs of mine are these, which draw 30 watts:
