Keanu's favourite smell.

Mick Ofield - A racing buddy of mine spotted a lonely Commando languishing in the LA airport parking lot. So he told another racing buddy of mine (Chris Scott - former owner of "Super Twins") about it. Went to check it out, recognised it as Keanu's bike (who Chris knew) and picked it up. It was a fine Norton with an Axtell ported head and cam etc. Chris contacted Keanu and gave him a bunch of shit about losing his bike etc. So a Norton community saved the day and brought imperfect owner and perfect bike back together.

Keanu's favourite smell.
I read that he'd forgotten where he left it
Was that true?

I thought it was an argument about best band in the '70s, not best band in their 70s :) .
I'll whisper this whilst FE's asleep.... The Stones may have been contenders in the 60's, but slipped way down the pack after that....
IMHO :)

Can't agree with you there. Sticky Fingers, It's Only Rock & Roll. Great albums. Both in the 70s, I think? I went to see them in '81. Fresh faced teenager. Wanted to see them before they split! That was 40 years ago :D

I'd be willing to bet Keef can't remember where he left his Commando!

I've got Keef's book.... Surprisingly he remembers everything!!!

In 2008 while picking up my rebuilt Combat motor I saw a beautiful fastback on the lift, it looked as if it was new. I then found out Dean (The owner of TT Cycle) was doing it for Keanu and said he has done a few Norton's for him. Dean said Keanu loved his Nortons and was truly a nice guy. I remember seeing the Stones in 81 when Prince opened for them, the crowd booed him and threw their shoes at him. He left the stage. People were not ready for his kind of music, we were there to see the Stones. Since then we have seen them 23 times.

I saw the Stones at Knebworth in 76 and was underwhelmed, the support bands were far more to my liking.

Ranked

!. Lynyrd Skynyrd
2. Todd Rundgren and Utopia
3. Hot Tuna

Roger Daltrey says the Stones are a 'mediocre pub band'. Can't argue with that, seen The Who a few times and always enjoy the concert.

That's funny
I went to see them at wembley stadium in 82 because I wanted to see them before they split up ?
When we came out the police or the council had stopped all public transport because they feared trouble!!!!
There were hundreds of people thumbing a lift us included
We managed to get a lift in a car that was already full
And got dropped about 5 miles from another mates house so we walked there and woke him up stayed there the night

Also in that interview he says he has a 73 mk11a and at the risk of losing all of your respect and miss speaking I was under the impression the mk11 was made in 74 and the mk11a came later in the year with minor changes….
My 74 model year MK2a is stamped 11/73 on the red plate under build date, so very possible for his to be the same. The 74 Mk2 build started first in late 73 and then within a few 1000 the Mk2a was built concurrently with the MK2. Finally the MK2 build stopped with the MK2a build only continuing until the MK3 started.

You are really bent out of shape by the frame mis identification huh? to be fair I can see the mix up there is a lot of hype and talk about the “featherbed frame” and when you talk about the isolastics nobody ever says the “islolastic frame” the main focus is the isolastic system and if your not paying close attention I can see you missing the fact that a whole new frame was made. Also in that interview he says he has a 73 mk11a and at the risk of losing all of your respect and miss speaking I was under the impression the mk11 was made in 74 and the mk11a came later in the year with minor changes…. And while we are on commando confusion on thing I could not find a definitive google answer does the commando forks still roadholder a or is it a new design that never really caught praise?
Many of the contemporary magazine road testers referred to the: 'good old roadholder' or 'roadholder type' forks on the 'new' Commando. NOC Service notes refer to them as Roadholders too.
Norton's adverts though seemed to concentrate on what was new and different on the bike compared to previous, rather than point out any similarities.

Back in 2013 Decemberist started this thread: https://www.accessnorton.com/NortonCommando/go-west-young-man-one-week-movie-2013.14154/

The link is inactive, but I found one that has a trailer of "Go West Young Man-one Week" . If you haven't see this movie, I highly recommend it.

Much more to the point of what a Commando can make you feel like without any smells, gasoline soaked fingers, easily misinterpreted "T" shirts or debates about music...

Best.

The misfortune that has befallen Reeves rivals the plot of any Greek tragedy. First his father left him at age three. Then his best friend, River Phoenix, died. His girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, got pregnant and they had a stillborn. They broke up. She was later killed in a car accident after attending a party at Marilyn Manson’s house. Next his sister, Kim, was diagnosed with cancer. He suspended filming the two Matrix sequels to be by her side and take care of her. Though she is a survivor, there seems to be no limit to how many punches Reeves is able to take before getting winded. Bowing out. Riding into the sunset on his Norton Commando. .

Rather than be angry, the actor has only grown kinder, more generous. He once gave the entire stunt team behind the Matrix sequels Harley Davidsons so they, too, could enjoy what he calls a “demon ride.” There is an entire subreddit dedicated to /r/keanubeingawesome. Instead of prosecuting trespassers in the 90s, for example, he cracked a beer with them. He secretly funds children’s hospitals. He crashes weddings and stops to chat to airline employees.

Understand. Prince 2 X. Rolling Stones 5 X. Last time Stones in Havana Cuba , in a wheelchair , front row priority with a Police escort. And my sexy Latin Wife clearing the decks for me. She makes things happen.

Back on point, he has for more than myself and many others here will ever have including at least part if not all ownership in a M/C manufacturer, Arch, and yet his favorite smell is his antiquated Norton coming up to operating temps. With that I imagine comes the anticipation of the Soul Stirring ride that is about to commence.
With that, I think we can all agree.

How is Keanu Reeves , I don`t know him?
But I read he has a Norton Commando 850-Combat-Fastback.
For me this is too much super-super in one bike.

Edit:
Sorry I forget featherbed
