After spending a couple hours wrestling with the stock ham can filter I'm considering throwing on a K&N if for nothing else but to guarantee I won't neglect changing it in the future. Has anyone noticed an advantage of either single oval K&N over the duals?

Ugh, I have noticed the oval K/N don't really fit well requiring some squashing to fit so almost as tedious as the ham can box and about as much bother to get stable sealing as mine always had some fouling pressure on it. It also collects more road and gas blow by grime so harder to keep nice and pretty, even with the fit wrinkles in the filter screen element to over look seeking perfection. I gave up on the one that came on pre-Peel and offer it up for your experiments for just shipping to see if you can deal with a new nice one long term. There is no advantage of flow or filtering over the factory version and may not filter or flow as well if all out peak power is a goal.

I'm more in this dudes camp now, especially in the extra gritty conditions my Commando sucks in.
