I am always curious about what others are developing...where would we be without them?

Janus Hand Built

I jist had a Coors Banquet brainstorm what if guy made vtwin out of the 250cc engine and made it 500cc and put it in that frame like those guys did with a Royal Enfield and v-twinned 2 350cc to make 700cc motor a few years back I think they called it a Musket that might be fun

I think the guy who made a Vincent look-alike out of one of those 900cc Yamaha Virago twins, had the right idea. He converted it to chain drive. It could be adapted to use two top ends off modern Jawa speedway motors.

$7k for a Janus? Really? Who in their right mind would buy one of those?

I would’t be able to contain myself if I saw one parked up... I’d just have to rub the ‘J’ off...

I watched a pretty terrible documentary about a guy who wanted to go cross country with another guy in a sidecar on one of those Janus motorcycles. I laughed.

I believe the sidecar wheel broke off 50mi out of town, and his top speed was like 50mph or something.

Needless to say, he ended up buying an 800$ mid 80s Japanese bike to complete the trip.

Years ago I worked as a mechanic at a bicycle shop which was a Giant dealership. At the time, Giant had a model called the Butte, and was a very dark purple. Working on one of these one day, I thought I'd be clever and put a bit of electrical tape over the "e", leaving "Giant Butt", which all my coworkers thought was hilarious. Once I was done with my little joke, I removed the tape, which in kind removed the "e"...

Fortunately the customer had a very good sense of humor and thought it was hilarious as well. Bullet dodged.

The enfield musket is much more interesting to me. The guy designed and carved his pattern parts out of MDF then got a foundry to cast his parts. Whether you think his bike is good, bad, or something else, you have to love that he designed and built his own patterns for the foundry, and his bike actually works. There's a Jay leno's garage episode of the musket, and Jay takes it for a ride.
