BTW - since my original post I have converted my OEM dual seat to fit the Corbin spike.
Doesn't have a key/lock though. I just extended the "pull" wire and put a smallish T-handle on it.
Used some of the spares I mentioned a couple of posts age.
Works very well.
The hardest bit is getting the various rubbers to hold the seat so that it is stable. Got there though.
My bike happened to come with a spare Corbin pillion seat but unfortunately the previous owner had lost the keys. Corbin wanted $38+shipping for what turns out to be a $5 filing cabinet lock. eBay to the rescue once again
This seat will come in very useful on my France trip next month to mount my luggage.
Edit: Looking on the Corbin site it seems the pillion seat is no longer available
