I am beginning to see a problem with my Corbin Gunfighter seat that a riding friend has had quite severely for some time.
I feel sure that others here will have this problem and, hopefully, a solution.
The problem is that the plastic seat shell weakens then breaks around the seat lock.
In my friend's case the only thing holding the lock in place is the vinyl seat covering.
Mine is not quite that bad, but the lock is quite wobbly. It appears the shell is quite thin in that critical area

Trying to remove the nut (21mm?) that holds the lock body in place appears to be likely to only worsen the damage, so I stopped after removing only the cylinder.
I have a suggested solution to put up for comment:
I would remove the lock barrel/cylinder leaving only the hollow lock body in situ.
Next, clean the threaded exterior of the body and the plastic all round the seat "hollow" where the inner lock is located.
Finally, with the seat on its side so the lock part is at the bottom, and pour epoxy resin so that it fills to nearly the rim of the lock body.
When it sets the resin should provide the extra support the body needs (...and is currently lacking)
The only downside of this that I can see is the lock body is now permanently attached to the seat shell. It isn't a wearling part anyway.
Maybe someone has a better solution?
