These look a great shock for those keen on the stock look.

I wonder why they won't bring them to the UK (or anywhere outside of the US)?

I reckon they could be a good seller despite the name (Wolves fan ;) ).

Just buy a pair of adjustable IKON 7610's from Australia for another AU$50.
Exclusive to the USA and expensive it seems being little more than a spring on a powder coated stick.

Edit.
Searching IKON only showed fork springs with a Commando search and price rises in general. (The last two sets I bought were AU$550 a pair)
Those Albion type shocks were US$267 for a similar vintage bike and the adjustable version had risen to AU$605 (US$422) and up.

Life is two short to put up with crappy suspension unless you have to.

Agree, they look nice but might as well go for a bit more and get more. I got the 7614, overkill but they
seem to work well.

I also went with the 7614 units that were a lot more pricey but could not be more pleased with how they work You can also get different spring-rates depending on your weight and have adjustable compression settings. They can also be rebuilt if necessary but I doubt that would happen. You can check out the video that Jerry Doe posted last week showing them in use.

Probably came about from market feedback.
So many people are focused on aesthetics over function.
Rechroming springs is expensive.
"Ride it? No, mostly I roll it from the heated garage to the enclosed trailer."

I like them as well.

In some cases perhaps.

Or in my case, and I will assume many others.
A desire for something solid that fits the original character of the bike.
I'm really not picky, smart enough or monied enough for fancy yellow gas chambers, spinning knobs or carefully calibrated springs. Just ride it...

Understood. I bought EMGO's that looked the part. What a waste of time/effort/money. I should have bought IKON the first time around.

I think mine were the original shocks. The damping had expired, but the springs still worked. I replaced with Hagons and so far all is well. A compromise, as I couldn't afford the Ikons at the time. Probably a false economy over time, but so far they work well enough for me not to think about them.

I'm getting confused here. Maybe I'm a bit slow :)

Are people being sarcastic here and I'm not getting it or what cause I'm not understanding.

Ikon shocks are made in Australia. They have retail agents all around the world and I guess these agents will sell at prices based on factory original cost , taxes, exchange rate , markup etc etc.

Like everything at the moment prices are going nuts and I expect older stock will be cheaper than the latest stock.

Ikon don't do themselves any favours with their websites and they certainly have confused me, but a few months ago I did buy a set of 7610 shocks directly from the company in Australia.

I just sent them an e mail saying I had a Commando, my weight, type of riding and the colour choice I wanted.

They came back the next day with a order form where I entered technical details address etc.

I also rang them in Ozzie business hours to check a few details and give them cc details.

They said they were flat out and gave a 4 week delivery time.

4 weeks plus postage time the shocks turned up in NZ. All pretty easy.

The only thing that was a bit off was that they took the full payment on my card on day one. I would have preferred payment came off when the shocks were sent or maybe a 25 % deposit only upfront since they were being built to my spec. Weight etc.

What I cannot do is actually report how they are working because we have had exactly half a day of decent weather since they arrived two months ago. Rain and storms and rain more storms.

No, I don't think anyone is being sarcastic. Ikons consistently get very good reviews.

I wonder if they don't market these to the UK as we're pretty saturated with similar product? (visually, at least!)

OK.

I just wasn't understanding about not being available in the UK, trailer queens and yellow gas chambers.

Maybe I'm getting old.

You could probably have them any colour you want actually. They send the parts out for powder coating after they are built.

And send them anywhere you can get couriers.

Got you. So I am a bit slow.

I think my issue could be that sometimes I look at the Commando Facebook page and think "Ah that's a joke. "

And then ten comments later realise they were actually serious.
