Horseshoe Pass

Nice pic Dave, I did the same run on my candy red roadster only a month ago. A Norton Owners Club run by the Shropshire branch, and I was the only one on a Norton! Also the only one to get a clear run up the pass by going to the front of a traffic queue at some traffic lights at the bottom, heh heh. The run was to a classic bike meet at the Old Stores cafe near Mold, 15 ish miles further North, and a better class of biker cafe than the Ponderosa, imho?

The Nant Y Garth pass about 5 miles up the road from the Horseshoe is awesome, if you can get a clear run that is..

I know Nant Y Garth and I like the run up to Ruthin that follows on from the pass apart from the camera van that parks at the end of the first straight after the turn for Graig-Fechan. Some great roads in North Wales and it's on my doorstep which is a bonus.

I'm jealous of those fine twisty roads through the hills...The weather looks decent & under 95F also and like it may have rained in the past couple of months....I also like your bike a bunch too.
All I've got is flat, straight, dry, & very hot.....Repeat daily. Forget the safety of leathers because one could dehydrate & blackout within an hour at mid day, and it's just heating up good about then. You are most fortunate.

Where are you? Texas?

Across the bay from Corpus Christi a bit. Flat as a flounder & 99% of roads aren't banked on the curves. Humidity is what makes it murderous here...go to West Tx. and get in the shade you'll find it cools off a lot even at 110F.The GOM is a curse.

Thank you and I do love where I live and what I ride.

I was up the back of a ZZR1400 that was slowing me down in the corners otherwise I’d have been making a better effort :)

Dave
I had one of those. Whoever was on it must have been napping.

Lots of people buy those fastassumbichi bikes and they're afraid to do anything with them because of the unforgiving power. Inexperienced riders die in droves because of poor judgement on those things, and add brakes that really stop on a dime...A dangerous combo for a greenhorn showing off.
Most of the smear cases I catch on the news are from these guys, or a new HD rider trying to do the impossible on a bike that makes it highly improbably. Be patient and allow them room to learn their limitations. If they live long enough good taste shall develop and they'll soon be on European( British).
I've driven a couple and they scare the hell out of my old ass.

Roger that, I've had that problem the go faster crew then slow into the twisties, what are they doing.

As a teenager back when the Commando was first launched I lost several friends to the Commando and it’s overwhelming power and handling .... things sure have changed .... I’m old man now and think nothing of riding close to my limit on the Ducati .... the Norton is great for a spirited ride but really just not near as fast as the 2 newer Italian bikes I ride ..... I know it wrong to say but it is my reality , in ‘72 a Boss 302 mustang put out 290 HP , my AWD sedan puts out 305 HP with no mods , just sayin .... also it just plain wrong that a 16 yr old new rider can buy a Hyabusa etc. and go for it .... at least around here they do and it never ends well ......

I live in a small town and hear these kids when they get one with the 12-15k scream. This goes on for a week or two and most times it seems the scream stops abruptly and is not heard again....I begin thinking another one gone because the bike is not seen again, but another soon pops up for a repeat.
I see scraps of faring & such on the roads or torn up grass and weeds roadside in the area, but other than that they seemingly vanish.
