L.A.B., do you know if these records exist for the 850 models?

Factory kept no records of what model the bike was configured as when it left the assembly line, so there is no way of proving whether the bike with your vin number left the factory as a Hi-rider or any one of the other models.

Not exactly true. At least not for a large number of 750 models so an enquiry to either the UK VMCC or NOC would likely identify the model.

850 models are a different matter unfortunately, there are many gaps in these, but Andover Norton has some 850 records.

My serial number is 147610

The title I have (from1977) states that it was a Hi-Rider at that point.

My original WA title said it was an INT (erstate). But, it came to me as a hi rider, with the hr/roadster panels.

I like the HR tank when I am doing work on the bike for easier access to various bits. But I have a lovely interstate tank that is way more convenient and looks better IMHO.
