They all work very well in the garage. I really don't like a sharp cut-off on low beam. Need to see beyond the cut-off to avoid those tricky deer.
I don't have a picture of how well the one listed above works, but it is truly remarkable.

Not sure about the deer test, as my experience with them is they leap out in front of you when you are waaaaay to close - better brakes maybe??

On both high and low beam, it provides a wide stream of bright light that floods both lanes at least 600' ahead of you, high beam also lights up the power poles, trees, and low flying aircraft. You have to see it to believe it.

FWIW

I'm starting to worry that this new LED may attract UFOs.
Not really wanting to be probed by Aliens right now.

If I'm not in town or meeting an oncoming vehicle, I'll be using the high beam.

I'm not really wanting to be "probed" by anyone right now.

Well, maybe my girlfriend under the right circumstances.

Some 6 years ago, fitted one from Paul on a WD16H. Those early ones was not very good for night use. Awful pattern. I understand that the modern ones are far better.
Though it was better than the blackout lights we had as dispatch riders.

I believe you still can find plenty of the poorly designed LEDs. I have a couple here, the last one purchased about ten months ago. Nice and bright, just don't try riding at night with it!

Trying to keep up with all of this...I find the bulb on Amazon. Unsure of what reflector was mentioned. Is the Hella workable? My thanks.

For an update on the turn indicators read post #35.

Has anyone just replaced the pilot bulb for a brighter LED daylight running light?

Yes I have
But I can't remember what I replaced it with !! It was ages ago and it was a cheap eBay LED
If I get a chance I'll open it up and see what I fitted

I did....
That, the instrument lights and a Goff tailboard so I could keep them on all the time. Not sure how prominent I now am to oncoming drivers, but at the time of fitting most LED H4 bulbs needed a lot of messing about..
Were I that bothered, I expect the newer ones here would be a better choice rather than just the pilot..
(Didn't do the indicators, way too much faffing about for the minimal time they're alight :-) )

Yes I fitted a Goff LED pilot and its much brighter than stock. But the LED headlight bulbs are just SO bright that the LED pilot is definitely the poor cousin again !

Not sure if there's any science behind the usual Brit 'pilot' bulb, or whether it's position was solely dictated by space availability?
I'm sure I've seen bicycle LED lamps that are brighter than my pilot, but of course the bulb, reflector and lens in those instances are designed as a complete package.

I've wondered if the pilot bulb was mainly there in reserve for those occasions where the main bulb filament broke from vibration on a night ride. You could pilot your way home slowly and carefully on the pilot beam.
