I just won a "LED headlight" in a club gift exchange. Most writing on the box is in Chinese. Specs: DC 12 volt 85 V. It is waterproof. Imput voltage: DC 12-100 V. Output power: 3W, 6W, 9W. Ambient temperature: -60 C - 45 C. Illumination: 300 LM. There is a small mounting bracket and two wires coming from the unit, one black, one red. The unit is 3 inches wide. I will try to post a photo shortly. Any idea what I can do with this thing?

I came up with a bunch of smart-ass answers but since you're a friend I'll keep the smart-ass to myself :)

Buy a bicycle and get some exercise (oh, that's what I should do, not you)

Maybe take it on your road trips to use as a work light powered from your motorcycle battery.

Or, better still, re-gift it!

Drat. When I saw the box, I was hoping it was an LED replacement for the headlight bulb. No such luck. Will have to break down and buy a bulb. Have offered light to bicycle riding friends.

Does it have a mounting bracket? My son has a light that uses a Go-Pro mount, it is incredible. He does night rides up the local mountains, major climbs. He lost the mount and 3D printed a bracket. Mounts on top of helmet. It broke at the top of the climb, had to ride down with the thing in his mouth haha. It throws a tremendous amount of light, think car with high beams on.

It does have a mounting bracket. If you might want it I will post a photo

I bicycle St. Clair in Toronto every day , for exercise . It's pitch black at 4:15 now . -10 C. Send it to ne please .
It needs a battery to work, so you would need to hook up a battery to your bike. Also, friends with a camper have already asked for it. They plan to wire it up for inside camper lighting.

O.K . I'll keep using the orange vest and the little flasher lights 2032 Lithium cell battery powered , until we fly away in 7 weeks . Then shift to sunscreen . Love cycling , I have a light summer bike , a winter wide tire cruiser for winter ( now ) .
