I'm fitting a Grimeca caliper to a Triumph twin, does the ball bearing go in the bleed nipple port ? Does the feed port have one or not.
thanks

Never seen that set up beforeYes, as the ball is pressed against the seating by the blunt-ended Grimeca bleed nipple so the ball seals the port, unlike other types where the tapered bleed nipple closes off the seating.

No (see above).
Nor me, but it's not a bad idea, is it?Never seen that set up before
Interesting
That depends why it is done.Nor me, but it's not a bad idea, is it?
Actually, if you think about it, it must be better than the common or garden tapered nipple when you are bleeding the brakes, as the ball should act like a non return valve, dropping back on it's seat between pumps. That depends why it is done.
Is it to improve the part in some way?
Or to simplify the product to allow for cheaper / lower quality machining ops?
I suspect the latter ?
That’s a bloody good point !Actually, if you think about it, it must be better than the common or garden tapered nipple when you are bleeding the brakes, as the ball should act like a non return valve, dropping back on it's seat between pumps.
