I'm fitting a Grimeca caliper to a Triumph twin, does the ball bearing go in the bleed nipple port ? Does the feed port have one or not.
thanks

does the ball bearing go in the bleed nipple port ?

Yes, as the ball is pressed against the seating by the blunt-ended Grimeca bleed nipple so the ball seals the port, unlike other types where the tapered bleed nipple closes off the seating.

Nor me, but it's not a bad idea, is it?
That depends why it is done.
Is it to improve the part in some way?
Or to simplify the product to allow for cheaper / lower quality machining ops?
I suspect the latter ?

Actually, if you think about it, it must be better than the common or garden tapered nipple when you are bleeding the brakes, as the ball should act like a non return valve, dropping back on it's seat between pumps.

I've also found the seat doesnt get buggered up with the ball. I've had a few Lockheed's where the brake nipples have been dreadfully over tightened & left a smear or cut on the seat. I know I shouldn't buy rusty knackered second hand shite but I just cant get out of the habit! Lol
