gortnipper posted THIS a few years back. It concerned adapting Triumph Thruxton paniers to a Norton Commando.

I did some searching and found a GOOD PRICE on the same bags at Triumph Cleveland. The price included shipping although that was for domestic USA delivery.

I called them to make sure these were the same bags as referenced in the post above and the nice lady texted my a schematic of what was included in the set.

Indeed they seem to be the exact set that gortnipper set up in the post above. This was the best price I encountered in my search.

I ordered a set and will combine them with the seat trunk I already purchased.

This combination should allow me to carry plenty of gear for road trips.

As usual this site is a plethora of valuable information. Many thanks to those that shared there experiences so that a relative (touring) rookie can make informed decisions.

They look good. I'll need something a bit larger for a holiday I've promised myself.

I saw, somewhere on here, the panniers offered by Andover Norton are Hepco & Becker. I have a pair of 30L cases, not currently on a bike. So, I've just ordered the rails to fit the Commando. They're currently stuck in transit (customs) but a matter of a couple of weeks. So, I'm now committed to using the Commando for my European trip, hopefully in Spring. Hopefully!
