My vacation starts tomorrow and my woman and I are taking a ride!
We are heading north thru the Rockies up to the Canada line. Stops include: Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, northern Idaho, then back home. Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Utah.
It will be about 3500 miles and we have 2 weeks to do it. Totally a laid back adventure in what I think is the most beautiful part of the USA. I am taking my Goldwing "the mothership" on the trip. Kinda like driving a school bus but it is as reliable as a well ....a Goldwing.
I could take the Norton (mechanically I'm sure it would make it), but with all of the torque, two up riding, and full saddlebags. I go thru those skinny rear tires pretty regularly, and I really dont want to mess with taking the bike apart (or even finding a TT100) on the road.
Thats OK though, because as soon as we get back home, there is a large motorcycle rally here in the four corners (Labor Day weekend)(The Rally in the Rockies)(about 40,000 bikers), and my Norton will be here waiting for me: clean, shining, and ready to make the Harley guys jealous.
I'm pretty excited and just wanted to brag! 8) . I will report in when we return. Mark
