I'm having one. The motor blocks the front/lower cutaway. I have all of the motor to gearbox-frame bolts out, but can't figure out how to shift the motor forward. Front ISOs have to come off too? I hope not.

Any advice will be appreciated. It's been a long, frustrating day. And it's only 3 PM...

Thanks

hey brian! my experience......i had a 72 combat crankcase and no problems to get the gearbox out of the cradle with the engine in place.
then i did a total engine rebuild and changed from my `72 crankcase [was welded to death from an other owner] to a 71 crankcase [breather on driveside at the end of the camshaft...]. And with this crankcase i had to remove the front iso to pull the engine forward to get the gearbox in.
so...when you got a `71 crankcase i think you have the same problem.

Chris, hi. I just found my answer - had to put the bike on the side stand. Worked like a charm. Thanks for pitching in. - B
