Gear selection

Hi Chaps I have built a 73 commando with a couple of mods on .it seems ok I have a few problems the main one is I struggle with gear selection from 1st to 2nd but not all the time sometimes it selects fine Any ideas ? it is fitted with a belt drive I dont think its too tight how much play should there be ?
I would also like to post pics as i would like youre opinion on it (good or Bad) do the pictures have to be through photobucket ?
Is this site linked to Taptalk as it is easy to transfer pictures from the phone to the site as I have with another forum

So many things give similar symptoms we can only list what's been found prior and hope it covers your annoyance. Belt should be easy to twist to 90' when cold and still mostly twist 90's when hot. Over tensioned primary is famous for affecting 1st N and 2nd shifts. 1st gear bush is paper thin and wears first and has caused me mis shifts and pop out of 1st till replaced. Pawl spring could be a factor too, especially if working fine a long time prior. Let us know what ya try or find for relief.

I think any photo storage server will work, I find Photobucket easiest and no charge or limits. Or you could subscribe to the forum.

when cold, twist the top primary belt in the middle

if you can twist it a bit less than about 90 degrees, then the tension is fine
