Thanks for the great pics. Moving along smartly. I left the rim locks out as well but mostly because I forgot about them.

A lot of parts gathering, researching, priming and painting. Productive weekend except maybe the trouble I got in putting painted parts in the toaster oven. But they came out great!

Not the swing arm of course. Need to get up a little more nerve before I go all out oven.

Just a comment for your consideration.

Those mainstands are brilliant. Very easy to get the bike on the stand with the long lever.

One issue however. They drag really badly. Like really really badly.

So be careful when you go round your first left turn.

I cut the lever off mine with an angle grinder. Hard to get on the mainstand but at least I can turn left without the whole back end lifting several inches in the air.

Appreciate the advice, I have a long way to go before I worry about turns, but I’ll remember this when I do.

Bench test horn? You really don't want to find it doesn't work after installation on a Commando.

Put the horn leads (sub harness ) on now and test at the bench through the leads - tough to get them on after horn is in place .

I suggest you do a trial fitting of the centre stand and check for wear before assembling all the bits at the frame. Don't ask me how I know ....

A couple of milestones today.

I bench tested the horn and I installed it in the proper location.

I have the swing arm and cradle put together.

And I got it off the bench and connected the shocks and the front wheel.

Yes, that planter leaves the frame in a very precarious position.
